Preparation of magnetic carbon nanofibers derived from bacterial cellulose alloyed with magnetic fluid

Magnetic carbon nanofibers (CNFs) carbonized at different temperatures were prepared from bacterial cellulose (BC) alloyed with magnetic fluid (MF) or Fe3O4 powder to facilitate the efficient use of biomass resources. The CNFs nanoparticles demonstrated high saturation magnetizations and coercivities up a carbonization temperature 800 °C. Iodine-treated BC showed substantial increase in char yields lower compared iodine-untreated BC. analysis X-ray diffraction results implies that properties are related types relative amounts iron iron-containing compounds, existence amorphous CNFs. Scanning electron microscopy indicated surfaces MF-alloyed possessed fused fibrous texture voids, without iodine treatment featured crystalline nanoparticles. maximum surface area pore volume, while mainly contained mesopores.
